Sisters!

I have truly had the hardest time choosing my favorites from this session, simply because I love the energy of this family!

Perhaps it is because I was able to witness the closeness of the these two sisters and identify with it as a sister and as a mother to two girls, who are also very close.

What fun and great energy they possess!! I hope you can feel it too!

A Neat Night

A few nights ago I attended an event for Children's Mercy at Screenland in downtown KC--My best friend Nicki served as professional consultant on a new film project to provide child burn victims with a tool to help friends, families and classmates understand what they have been through. She has been the Child Life Specialist (the field in which I hold a bachelor's degree in) on the burn unit at the hospital for nearly 8 years.

I was very proud to watch this project come to fruition for her and fun to watch her play a role in the film as well! Isaac Alongi, a Kansas City photographer, filmed the movie--something I was also proud to witness as a fellow photographer. Good photography is always nice to see!

Also at the theater, there is a fairly large display of work by Orval Hixon--at which I was blown away! The photographs were all taken from 1910-1930 and true reminders of eternal beauty and classic photographic art.

You can see the work yourself at www.orvalhixon.com

His use of lighting is spectacular and you can feel the souls of the individuals he photographed.

It was a neat night--watching a great film in a field I feel passionate about, proud to have a great friend, and also find photographic inspriation!

Studio Note!

I am finding myself back-logged in a big way since returning from vacation! And personal events like baby showers, kindergarten roundup, etc are also in abundance! Please be patient with me as I sort through the gazillion emails and messages--I will get them all returned shortly.

Thank you!! :)

Back from Vacation!

I had such a great trip to Florida--nothing but relaxation and a great time spent with friends. We joked that out biggest responsibility was to made sure we 'flipped' every 30 minutes. ;)

I have faced some nightmarish challenges over the past year and this trip was needed more than you could ever know. I am so blessed to have friends that care enough to recognize the need and made sure it happened.

Here are some images from the trip!!

Carla (also my assistant!!)

Can you find Nicki and Carla in the top right corner?? ;)

Shy Silvia

This little one was so shy, but absolutely precious!

Baby Luke--Slideshow

An online slideshow is included in all of my baby planners' packages--this one is Luke's! :)

FYI: If you wish, you can stop the music by pressing that tiny dot in the bottom right corner of the player.

VACATION NOTICE!

Notice:
I will be on vacation with two of my best friends from Friday to Wednesday--one of my friends got a GREAT deal on a bonus week through her timeshare, so we decided on a last minute trip! My mom bought me a plane ticket for my birthday and the girls are paying for my room as an early birthday gift! How great is that?!?! A MUCH NEEDED girls vacation!! :) (I truly have the greatest friends on the planet. Truly.)

Sooooo, this means that any questions or whatever will need to be sent to me on WEDNESDAY to have a chance of me replying to it before I leave.

Thanks!

Easter Images

I hope your family had a great weekend--we spent wonderful time with family celebrating Easter!

Saturday was spent at my in-laws farm near Cameron, Missouri.....Spring has brought the arrival of many baby goats at the farm and my girls, neices and nephews (and many of the adults too!!) were simply beside themselves with excitement! I am a self-admitted 'city-girl', but even I found them to be cute little buggers. :)

Of course we had the annual big Egg Hunt too--I have so much fun watching all of the kids go on the prowl! The weekend before, on Palm Sunday, my girls enjoyed a big hunt at church as well. The hunt at church was so much warmer, as Easter was SO cold!!

Sunday was spent with my family. After church we visited the yummy brunch buffet at Nick and Jake's--I highly recommend it!!

It was a great weekend full of family and fun--can't complain one bit about that.

(Pardon the million goat snapshots--many family members are waiting on these!! LOL)

My favorite rooster....

Brandon

One more member of the Class of 2007 here!

I had such a great time with Brandon and his mom taking these--I'd done Brandon's older brother's senior photos a year ago and was honored to work again with the family.

Check him out--isn't he the most handsome thing! :)

The belly is growing!

You may remember Brandy from a previous post-she is one of my best friends and we are documenting her pregnancy at least once a trimester! Watch Brandy's belly grow!
;)

Michaela

Another Class of 2007 member here!

Congratulations to Michaela and thanks for exploring Parkville's bluffs a little with me!

Once again, I had trouble choosing my favorites, but I managed to whittle my choices down to 4--enjoy!

Just fyi: I am currently attending a photography conference, so response time to phone calls and emails may be a teensy bit slow....
