Sick Kids--blech!

BOTH my assistant and I have sick kids at home, so we are working a little slower this week.

I have known this family for a long, long while--Pak was in my wedding and they are great people and friends. And so much fun to photograph!

Cathy is expecting their second son, so we took the opportunity to capture this pregnancy as well as get some fun family shots.

More Snow Fun!

The snow was perfect for playing today! Lots of neighbor kids gathered for sledding, snowmen, and hot chocolate--it was a nice day.

SNOW!

I love a nice snowfall every so often--not ice--SNOW! :) And today Kansas City was blessed with a great snow. My oldest was playing with a neighbor friend, but Carly and I went out and enjoyed the peace that snowfall brings. There really is nothing like it!

This first image is my favorite, but this tiny version of it doesn't do it justice--sorry! But you can bet I'll be blowing it up for my own walls at home! (I desaturated the colors to give it an older feel.)

A dear friend of mine, Cathy Le, has started her own company, Bam+Boo Designs--she creates bibs, changing pads, and much, much more. She is a mom of boys and determined to provide fabulous designs for both the baby girls and baby boys of the world! She designs and hand makes all of the products herself. They really are fabulous!! Happy New Year from The McFather Family!

Team in Training!

In my 'bio' you may have seen that I run for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society--I run in memory of my dad, who we lost 6 years ago. He was just 52 and never got to meet his granddaughters--this will always be one of the greatest heartbreaks of my life. But, I run because he and so many others cannot--raising money to help those that need it to live.

The Society is currently recruiting for the Spring season.....and I encourage you to join them! Running with Team in Training has been one of the greatest things I've EVER done in my life--and the people you run with are second to none--it's really an amazing thing.

Trust me, if *I* can do it, anyone can do it. See below.....

A Wonderful Friend

Some of you may have spoken to Brandy on the phone at some point over the last year--she worked as my assistant for a while, until 'life' got in the way. But more importantly, Brandy is one of my dear, dear friends--she and her husband have practically carried me through the last year and I thank the Lord for them often. They are expecting their second child this summer--and I am looking forward to photographing Brandy throughout her pregnancy. And, yes, it's totally fine to dislike her for looking this good when pregnant. ;)

Life with one-year-old twin boys!

Meet Jack and Riley--one year old twins that I've grown quite attached to looking at! Jack and Riley have been baby planners and every session over the last year has brought me joy and laughter. I love proofing their images--the expressions they have are priceless. If I could, I'd post half of their session here, but I'll contain myself and give you just a piece of my joy. Here goes....
